Born in Narrabri, Sharne Neilson joined the WNVS team in 2013, after spending a year and a half working as a zoo keeper at Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
There she worked with lions, tigers, giraffes, 3 species of rhino, elephants, hippos and native wildlife. Her favourite part of the job was taking the African elephant for early morning walks in the spare paddock.
Although there are no exotic zoo animals in Narrabri, Sharne enjoys her work at the veterinary clinic. She particularly likes getting involved in the wildlife & rehabilitation cases that are presented to the clinic.
At home, Sharne shares her life with 3 snakes, 3 bearded dragons (Rocket, Murray and Sunny), 2 dogs (Ruby and Tilly)
